Dyson announces R1 Nurovi Dry and R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry robot vacuums

Dyson announced two new robot vacuums on September 3, 2026, in a press release issued from London: the R1 Nurovi Dry and the R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry. Both machines use what Dyson calls a Twin-capture system, in which brush bar bristles sweep larger debris into the machine while the vacuum motor handles fine dust. Both have extending side sweepers with an anti-tangle design, and both use acoustic piezo dust sensing and floor detection to adjust suction and cleaning behaviour as they go. The bagless dock has eight cyclones, empties the robot after each clean and stores up to 90 days of dry waste. The R2 Wash+Dry adds Reuleaux triangle mop pads shaped to reach into corners, and its dock washes those pads with 75°C water and dries them with 45°C air. Control runs through the MyDyson app. Dyson says the machines are "launching soon" and directs buyers to dyson.com.

This is a new-product announcement. It does not announce refurbished availability, a US launch date, pricing, or warranty and return terms. For US buyers comparing refurbished robot vacuums, the announcement provides model context rather than a new refurb option. The two Nurovi models share a name but differ in function and equipment: the Dry version has no mopping pads or pad-washing dock, while the Wash+Dry version does. When evaluating any refurbished robot vacuum, check the exact model name, the generation, and whether the dock, pads, side sweepers and other included equipment are listed in the refurbished package rather than assumed.

Several details are not in the release. Dyson gives no date beyond "soon", no prices, no list of launch countries, and no battery run time, bin capacity, water tank size or suction figures. It does not say whether the robots will be sold outside dyson.com, whether a refurbished program will cover them, or how they compare to Dyson's earlier robot vacuums. Buyers can compare currently listed vacuum models in Rebuya’s appliances category and check Dyson’s company page for source coverage.
