Amazon’s newsroom published its Second Chance Deal Days announcement on August 28. Europe and parts of Latin America had their own events, while US shoppers were offered the first Second Chance Savings promotion inside Amazon’s Labor Day Deals from August 28 through September 7. Amazon advertised up to 30% off already discounted returned and refurbished goods from brands including Ninja, Shark, Breville, Garmin and ASUS, plus Amazon Pre-Owned Devices. That event has ended.
The US buyer takeaway is about the channel rather than a live discount. Amazon says it inspects customer returns, tests and cleans them, and repairs them when needed. Products in perfect condition can go back on sale as new; others are discounted, with larger savings on “used” than “like new” condition. The company says US buyers have saved an average of 20% against the recommended retail price of equivalent new items when shopping its secondhand selection. That is Amazon’s measure, not a price guarantee for a specific device.
The newsroom page does not promise another US event, list current deal stock or give the grade, warranty and return terms for a particular electronic item. Any purchase today requires a live listing check, especially for seller identity, condition and the price of an equivalent new product.
