Back Market’s July 15 release combines a survey of US parents with two subscription partnerships. The Harris Poll surveyed 936 parents with children under 18 in school for Back Market in early June. The company says 79% of respondents were open to refurbished back-to-school tech; battery health was the most common concern at 47%. Back Market also said US purchasers of eligible learning devices could receive one month of Super Duolingo starting in July. A Spotify offer of up to four months of Premium was set to begin with purchases in August.
For a US buyer comparing a refurbished laptop or tablet, the survey points to the question to ask first: what battery condition is actually stated for the device being sold? That is our reading of a survey response, not evidence about the quality of a particular listing. The subscription perks have value only if the purchase and account meet their eligibility rules. They should be considered alongside the item’s condition, warranty and returns.
The press release does not give an end date for either perk or an exact August start day for Spotify. It refers readers to a separate back-to-school page for eligible countries and categories. Before relying on a perk now, confirm it appears in the current checkout and check the device’s own grade and battery information.
