What a claim covers

Back Market's warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. It excludes accidents, liquid damage and unauthorized work. Ordinary battery capacity decline is outside the limited warranty (Back Market warranty, Back Market help). Start a request through Orders and Get help. The seller pays the shipping label if the claim is covered; otherwise the buyer pays (Back Market).

For the select Amazon Renewed items with an Asurion warranty, coverage is for defects in material and workmanship. Accident, water damage and third-party repairs are excluded. Asurion can repair, replace or provide a gift card or check at its option (Amazon). Amazon also warns that a manufacturer's warranty may not cover used products (Amazon returns).

eBay says Allstate handles its refurbished warranty claims. Have your receipt and the original listing link ready. The program warranty excludes accidental damage, normal wear and cosmetic damage (eBay).

Return window versus warranty

A return window lets you send an eligible item back under the return policy. A limited warranty addresses covered failures after purchase. Amazon Renewed Premium's 365 days are stated as a return period; Apple's one year is a limited warranty (Amazon, Apple). The returns compared guide covers the return windows separately.

The exact product page matters. Amazon says to check return eligibility there, Walmart says warranty details can vary by category and seller, and Best Buy's general Outlet page gives no universal refurbished warranty term (Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy).

What to check before you buy

• The warranty document for the exact item, not just the program headline.
• Who services the claim: Apple, the seller, Asurion or Allstate.
• The coverage start date, exclusions and who pays shipping on a denied claim.
• Whether the number of days describes a return or a warranty.

Is Amazon Renewed Premium's 365 days a warranty? No. Amazon calls it a 365-day return period. Select other Renewed items have a separate 11-month Asurion limited warranty after a 30-day return period (Amazon).

Who backs a Back Market warranty? The seller provides the one-year limited warranty. Back Market provides the Orders and Get help route to start a claim (Back Market).

Does every Walmart Restored item have a one-year warranty? No universal one-year term is stated for all grades. Walmart states a minimum one-year written warranty for most Restored Premium products, with exceptions; check the item page and ask the seller for the warranty (Walmart).
