Android Central reports that a user on Samsung's Korean forums said their Galaxy S26 Ultra encountered a critical setup error after updating to One UI 9. In a machine-translated report cited by the outlet, the user said the screen was black and the home screen was not appearing, with an error message reading, "The webpage is unavailable... for the following reasons."
According to Android Central, Samsung responded that its development team confirmed the issue occurs when using an unstable system WebView on certain networks. Samsung advised updating the browser, such as Google Chrome, switching to Wi-Fi rather than cellular service, and then trying to log into the Samsung Account as normal; the outlet said Samsung has not confirmed a future software fix.
Android Central said it is unclear how widespread the problem is. It also noted separate Reddit reports, cited via Android Police, of an "XML Access Denied error" that reportedly froze devices including the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S24 and others, with users describing workarounds such as removing a SIM card or booting in safe mode with Wi-Fi off.
